During the 2017 holiday season, the 21st Annual Great Gingerbread Festival welcomed a record number of visitors to the Waelderhaus. Delicious gingerbread creations submitted by local school and community groups filled the Saal (great hall) and free musical performances were held each Saturday and Sunday during the season. Visitors voted for their favorite gingerbread creations, and at the end of the Festival, the highest vote-getters in each age category were awarded cash prizes for their classrooms!

Join Kohler Foundation for our free festive holiday tradition again in 2018. Daily tours of the Waelderhaus are still offered at 2:00PM, 3:00PM, and 4:00PM (closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). Weekend musical performances feature local and regional performers of all ages.
