The work of Loy Bowlin, the "Original Rhinestone Cowboy," was exhibited at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in an installation of his glitter-and-Christmas-tree-ornament-festooned living room in 2000. The project has expanded to include the bedroom and its magnificent ceiling, the bathroom, and hallway. The painstaking process of conservation and piecing the home back together was completed in December 2003. This was a massive project employing the skills of art conservators and technicians, an architect, carpenters, museum preparators, curators, and others. The home, numerous objects and related artifacts are in the collection of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.
